What’s your animal identity? Are you as cool as a Polar Bear, or as scrappy as a Staffy? Maybe you prefer a Bear?

‘Zoo Portraits’ is a project where the cuteness factor is off the charts. Barcelona artist Yago Partal first developed his portraiture concept in 2008, inspired by his love of animals, and his observations of the way people like to humanise not just their pets but wild kingdom creatures. And of course we then in turn identify ourselves with animal types or traits.

Yago Partal’s wry animal portraits are created with a variety of techniques including photography, collage and illustration. He uses his work to build awareness of animal welfare and to assist animal protection societies. Yago has now collaborated with Berlin fashion label Saint Noir to create a fabulous tee shirt collection featuring his Zoo Portraits
